This Policy addresses how we will handle information we learn about you from your visit to our Site. The information we receive depends upon what you do when visiting our Site.
Overview of Our Privacy Policy:
You do not have to provide personal information to visit and enjoy many features of our site. However, when you make an online donation, we will request personal information from you, such as your name, address, telephone number and credit card information. We will also request certain information when you sign our guestbook. We do not share your personal information with third parties, other than with our affiliates who provide technical support for our Site to handle your online donations. We collect anonymous, aggregate data to improve our site and features.
Online Donations:
The Site allows you to make online donations to support the various programs and projects described in the Site. Credit card transactions are processed by Sage Payments, a professional payment authorization service chosen for added security and reliability. Information collected during transactions is maintained in their database for recordkeeping. Information from these transactions is transmitted in a secure manner and is not released to third parties. We do not maintain a copy of your credit card information on our servers.
If you send us an e-mail, you should know that e-mail is not necessarily secure against interception unless you are using a security-enabled web browser.
Collected Information:
We use Google Analytics software to gather certain information about your use of the Site. When you visit our Site, our server automatically recognizes and stores the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example, aol.com, if you are connecting from an America Online® account), the date and time you access our Site, and your browser version. From time to time, we may collect other information, such as the pages of the Site that you visit, your search keywords or your operating system version. The information we collect enables us to run site usage tools and create statistics about our Site. These statistics help us to better understand how our Site is being used and what we can do to make it more useful to visitors. This information is not stored in a personally identifiable format.
You may voluntarily submit information by signing our guestbook or making an online donation. When you sign our guestbook, information submitted by you may be stored in a personally identifiable format and is used only for internal purposes and is not shared with people or organizations outside of our company, its subsidiaries or successors in interest, and its business partners.
Information About Children:
We do not attempt to collect personal information from children. We cannot always determine whether a user is a child. We do not maintain databases about children nor intend to ever do so.
Cookies:
“Cookies” are small files that are placed on your hard drive that assist the web site owner in providing customized services. Our Site does not use cookies in any manner.
Transparency and Security Features:
Other than security available for online donations, the Site does not use any digital security means, such as cryptographic protocols. Users should assume that third parties may access the information transmitted to and from the Site.
Favicon.ico requests:
Some browsers initiate a favicon.ico request to a web site when a user adds a site to their “Favorites” list. (.ico stands for “icon”) It is a small 16×16 pixel icon that replaces the standard icon used for a web page. We do log all Favicon.ico requests, but we do not track which users added our web page to their favorites list.
Release of information:
We will release any information that is required to be released by law or court order. We do not otherwise release to third parties any information collected on the Site.
Changes to Our Privacy Policy:
The above policies are effective as of the date set forth below. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time. The use of information that we gather now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at this time. Users wishing to see the changes may do so by visiting our web site privacy policy statement frequently. We also provide our clients with copies of our updated Privacy Policy from time to time.
